Summary

  • Restore transparent backgrounds for the browser favicon (.ico, 16px and 32px PNG) using the existing diver/server artwork.
  • Use new favicon filenames so browsers request the updated art instead of reusing cached opaque icons; remove unused old browser favicon files.
  • Leave Apple touch and Android home-screen icons unchanged on their ink tile.

Verification

  • go test ./... — passed
  • go vet ./... — passed
  • go build ./... — passed
  • git diff --check — passed
  • Served the app locally and verified all three exact icon URLs return HTTP 200 with correct MIME types and alpha 0 at the corners; checked a composited light/dark preview for edge halos. Browser homepage also rendered with the new icon links.

Risk: existing cached HTML can briefly request removed old favicon URLs until refreshed; the newly served HTML points to the versioned files.
